Questionnaire Results

from my findings, i found that the most preffered masthead was 'Anthem' from this, i have now decided that my masthead will be Anthem. My audience has decided that they would like to see advertisements and pictures throughout the magazine. The features have dominantly been chosen to be the colour red, so my audience obviously enjoys bright, eye-catching colours that attract their attention. From my results, my cover will feature a big main image of a single artist, that dominates the page.

Contents & article

This is my rough draft of my music magazine contents page. The logo is in the top left to maintain and emphasise the branding within the magazine. The contents is split up into 3 groups; news reviews and features - this just makes it easier to move around the magazine, dividing it into groups. Also there is a 'Plus!' Page that lists any other information that isn't categorised within the three groups. The page will contain an image of the main band, a number of small advertisements and a snapshot of an interview - to show the level of detail. On the left, as you can see, is the 'Band Index' - used to briefly notify the reader on who's featured in the magazine. A contents page in itself!

This is a rough draft of my music magazine article page. I have decided to stick with the red, black and white colour scheme as it looks proffesional and eye catching. The magazine logo will be placed at the top left corner, just as any other magazine, to ensure that the magazine is branded throughout. I have decided to add a main image of a singer/artist in action to add a serious effect to the page layout - accompanied by three smaller subsidiary images of the band/artist. This gives the reader a chance to almost meet the band.

School magazine analysis

This is my contents page for my school magazine. I've decided to stick to the red, black and white colour scheme to make the whole thing look more professional. As you may have noticed, my magazine looks particularly similar to 'Q Music Magazine' this is because my research on magazines was predominantly 'Q' and I really like the style and layout in which it is presented.

The most eye-catching thing on the page, to me, is the masthead - A simple, yet effective use of the colour red, accompanied by the letters 'SF' (meaning Sixth Former) maintains the brand throughout the magazine and makes the page look professional and clean. Not too much detail!

Page numbers and various details have been added to make the page look almost like a real magazine, in the sense of interactivity with the reader and the 'guidance' of page numbers.

The subject of school runs throughout the page, from the small details of the school logo to the actual school tie that drapes over the page numbers.

Overall, I'm really happy with the outcome.
